STARTING NEW COMMUNITIES
In his commission to the disciples, Jesus said:
Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
Matthew 28:19,20
Matthew 28:19,20
And they went out and preached everywhere, while the Lord worked with them and confirmed the message by accompanying signs.
Mark 16:20
And they established communities in various cities of Judea, then in Asia Minor, Greece, Macedonia, Rome, and gradually throughout the world.
Jesus said: make disciples, not merely believers. And to make disciples, we must form communities that are like families. His commission is still valid today. Several of our communities have come into being thanks to missionary work, beginning with Ernesto and Rose Marie Bretscher, their co-workers Raineir and Anneke Van Gent, their son Ernest Daniel and Christa, and subsequently through other precious servants of God such as Giovanni and Franca Traettino, Massimo and Cosetta Loda, and Marco and Rossella Biancardi, to name but a few. A new community is currently being established in Saluzzo (Piedmont).
